Bring a wrapped gift.

Everyone brings one gift and adds it to the pile. No peeking yet.

Find your first gift.

A red card tells you which gift to take to start. Keep it wrapped. The game is just getting started.

Play for the present you want.

Take turns playing cards to trade, open, steal and pass gifts. Some get opened along the way; others stay a mystery.

When the last card is played, the gift sitting in front of you is yours to keep. Until then, it's up for grabs.

We designed That Gift Game because we needed it for ourselves. It started at a mom and daughter Christmas party. We did a white elephant, and nobody really knew the rules. The girls all wanted the same gifts, and the moms felt bad taking anything from them. So we turned the white elephant into a real game, with rules and cards and a fun new twist.
